The Team Leader L3 and Operations Manager L5 apprenticeships lose funding in September 2026. No replacements have been announced. Our AI leadership programmes are the transition pathway - same audience, CMI qualifications embedded, plus the AI skills the Government is now prioritising.
Two of England’s Most Popular Apprenticeships Are Being Withdrawn
The UK Government is defunding 16 management apprenticeship standards from 1 September 2026, redirecting investment towards AI, engineering, and technical skills. The Team Leader / Supervisor Level 3 (ST0384) and Operations / Departmental Manager Level 5 (ST0385) are among the biggest affected - together accounting for over 25,000 new starts every year.
No direct replacement standards have been announced. The last day for new starts is 31 August 2026.
