AI Delivery and Organisational Transformation is one of three new Skills England units that replace the old AI Leadership unit. See all three →
AI Delivery & Organisational Transformation | The delivery pillar of the AI Leadership Pathway
AI Delivery and Organisational Transformation
for Senior Leaders.
A premium Level 5 apprenticeship unit for COOs, transformation directors, heads of change, HR and L&D leaders who own the move from approved AI strategy to adopted ways of working. Delivery craft, change leadership, audit, and people outcomes. No coding. No EPA. Up to £750 fully funded per leader.
What AI Transformation training solves
Most organisations do not have an AI strategy problem. They have an AI delivery problem. Copilot licences go unused, ChatGPT pilots stall, and nobody can evidence value on the board. This Level 5 unit closes the gap between approval and adoption.
Before the unit
- ✕AI pilots that live and die in single teams
- ✕No measurable impact on productivity or margin
- ✕Workforce communicating at staff about AI, not with
- ✕Audit committee asking for evidence no one has
After completion
- ✓A delivery plan that scales across functions
- ✓Measurable outcomes mapped to the business plan
- ✓Workforce plan, comms cadence, and upskilling path
- ✓A monitoring and audit framework your board trusts
Who the AI Transformation unit is for
The operators. The people who have to land AI across real teams, with real calendars, and real political weather.
Transformation Directors & COOs
Turn an approved AI strategy into a sequenced, funded delivery plan with clear owners, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
Heads of HR, People & Change
Redesign roles around AI, plan the workforce transition, run the comms, and keep engagement and trust while jobs evolve.
Programme Directors & PMO Leads
Run AI programmes the same way you run any high-risk delivery: benefits tracking, audit trail, monitoring, and board-ready reporting.
What you will cover on the AI Transformation unit
Three practical modules focused on the work that actually has to happen between an approved AI strategy and a transformed organisation. Every output is a real artefact used on a real initiative.
AI-enabled change & delivery
How to deliver AI like a serious programme. Sequencing, dependencies, delivery methods, and ecosystem partners, taught through live UK case studies.
- AI delivery plan on a page
- Partner and ecosystem sourcing
- Benefits realisation framework
Workforce, skills & people impact
Redesign work, not just tech. Role impact assessment, re-skilling pathways, communications, and how to lead people through AI change.
- Workforce impact assessment
- Re-skilling and role redesign plan
- Communications and engagement cadence
Audit, monitoring & transformation outcomes
Evidence what you have delivered. Monitoring dashboards, audit trail, outcome metrics, and reporting lines that satisfy a board and an external auditor.
- AI monitoring framework
- Audit-ready evidence pack
- Outcomes mapped to strategy
Delivery artefacts, not decks. Leaders leave this unit with a real AI delivery plan, a workforce impact assessment, and a monitoring and audit framework tied to a live initiative in the organisation. The things your CEO, CFO, and auditor will ask you for next year.
The AI tools your leaders will be rolling out
This unit is tool-agnostic by design, but it is built around the enterprise AI stack UK organisations are actually buying. Your leaders learn to size licences, triage use cases, contain shadow IT, and prove ROI on the tools below, not run slide-deck demos of them.

AI Delivery and Organisational Transformation carries up to £750 of government funding per learner. Neither the learner nor the employer pays the full price of the unit.
Levy payers
If your organisation pays the Apprenticeship Levy, this unit is drawn from your Growth and Skills Levy pot. No separate budget line, no invoice. Use the levy you have already paid before it expires.
SMEs (non-levy)
Non-levy employers receive 95 to 100% government funding, depending on size. The small remaining contribution, where one applies, is a modest employer fee paid to the provider.
For employers: the business case
What a transformation director, CIO, or CPO actually needs to know before sponsoring this unit for their team.
Up to £750 per leader, government funded
Drawn from your levy or 95 to 100% SME co-invested. No separate training budget. Leaders never pay. Up to £2,250 combined if you run all three units of the pathway.
One leader, a senior team, or the whole transformation office
Run one COO through it, or a cohort of heads of change, HR business partners, and programme leads together. Cohort delivery creates a shared delivery language across functions.
30+ guided learning hours across 8 to 12 weeks
Part-time delivery around live programmes. Work is done against a real AI initiative, so the time spent is time already planned, not added headcount load.
Skills test by TESS, validated by the employer
Skills England mandatory skills test is delivered by TESS. The employer confirms the result and can request an extended external assessment for regulated sectors. No EPA.
A delivery plan, workforce assessment, and audit framework
Your leaders leave with an AI delivery plan, a workforce impact assessment, and a monitoring and audit framework linked to a real initiative. Not a certificate wall, real artefacts.

TESS Group is an Ofsted Good provider with 10,000+ learners, 97% employer satisfaction, and 60+ UK employer clients including EDF, DPD, and BuyItDirect.

AI Transformation is the delivery pillar of the three-unit TESS AI Leadership Pathway. It sits after AI Strategy and Opportunity and AI Adoption, Procurement and Governance. You can take any unit alone or run all three.
No. The unit is built for leaders of people, programmes, and change, not technologists. It focuses on delivery craft, change leadership, audit, and measurable organisational outcomes, not the code.
Strategy without delivery is just an opinion.
This apprenticeship is how you turn it into evidence.
AI Delivery and Organisational Transformation is the delivery pillar of the new Level 5 AI Leadership Pathway. Live from 28 April 2026. TESS is one of the first approved providers. A 15-minute call is enough to decide if this is the right fit for your transformation, change, or people lead.
Book Your Discovery CallThe other two pillars of the pathway
Delivery only pays back if it is built on a clear strategy and set inside proper governance. These sister units do that work.
AI Strategy & Opportunity
Decide where AI creates value and build the board-ready value case before you ask anyone to deliver it.
AI Adoption, Procurement & Governance
UK principles, EU AI Act, vendor due diligence, and an AI policy the board actually signs off.
