About the Course

  • Level 3
  • Unit Accredited Certificate
  • Skillsfirst Principles of Social Media within a Business
  • Skillsfirst Principles of Digital Marketing and Research

This unitised certificate is designed to meet the rapid growth of Social Media as a business tool. The qualification aims to provide the knowledge and skills required to use Social Media successfully in business. The Social Media Course is designed to give an introduction to how popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and the like, can help to achieve your business marketing goals. Companies predominantly use social media marketing to reach out to existing and potential customers and potential employees, as well as journalists and bloggers who can help their cause.

The course is taught through a range of approaches designed to provide you with the opportunity to develop technical skills for practical applications and real vocational experience or support with progression to apprenticeships or further learning.

This approach switches the focus from impersonal advertisements to direct human contact, at the same time associating the company or enterprise with the social media culture. Social networking platforms like Twitter allow followers to re-tweet comments made by others about the product being promoted. By repeating the message, the users “friends” see it, thereby reaching more people, a phenomenon known as “snowball marketing”. This course will cover the different methods of social media marketing and how they can be of huge benefit to your business.

This is a competence and knowledge based qualification that is completed fully on-line and is assessed in a variety of ways, including assignments and workplace assessment.
