I'm not saying don't do it. I'm just saying a lot of organisations have got this happening right now with no oversight, no governance and no guidance. The LLMs are making decisions that it's not really appropriate to ask them to make, because we don't really understand enough. I guess the big picture is that we cannot delegate safety, in terms of guardrails, to the vendor companies. We have to be testing and thinking about where the guardrails run out on the niche cases that might be relevant to our organisation, and then whether we need to compensate for that with internal policy.
A metaphor I quite like is that we're probably all moving from being journalists to being editors. That's the skill set for the future. It's not going to be about doing the donkey work ourselves; it's going to be about checking it, correcting it, improving it and tweaking it.
