The providers
1. TESS Group
The UK's specialist AI apprenticeship provider: 22 programmes L3–L6 led by the AI & Automation Practitioner L4 (ST1512), plus the new Level 5 AI Apprenticeship Units (£750, no EPA). The differentiators are published and verifiable: 72% distinction at EPA against a ≈33% national average, 98% pass rate, Ofsted Good, 4.9/5 from 712 verified reviews, up to five qualifications bundled free (BCS, Microsoft AB-730, NCFE), and Coachy — the only frontier-model AI tutor included with a UK apprenticeship. Where we're honest: TESS doesn't offer L7 degree apprenticeships, doesn't recruit apprentices for you, and isn't the cheapest option — the case rests on outcomes.
2. QA
The UK's largest tech training provider, with AI apprenticeships from L3–L7 inside a very broad digital portfolio, strong employer infrastructure, and a recruit-an-apprentice service TESS doesn't offer. A safe pick for enterprises consolidating many standards with one supplier.
3. BPP
A heavyweight in law, accountancy and financial-services apprenticeships, now with AI pathways L3–L6. Strongest where AI training must sit alongside regulated professional qualifications in the same relationship.
4. Corndel
Known for management and data apprenticeships with strong exec sponsorship models, including collaborations with Imperial College. A good fit when the priority is a leadership development culture with data skills attached.
5. Multiverse
Built its name on degree-alternative early-careers apprenticeships with a strong community model, now offering AI and data pathways. Strongest when the goal is bringing new diverse talent in rather than upskilling existing staff.
6. Kaplan UK
A major accountancy and finance apprenticeship provider adding AI apprenticeship units from summer 2026. A natural pick where AI skills need to live inside finance teams already training with Kaplan.
