London runs on reporting. Banks and insurers in the City and Canary Wharf, the NHS trusts, the GLA and the boroughs, the agencies in Soho and the retailers on Oxford Street all employ people whose job is to turn data into decisions, and most of them learned Excel on the job and nothing after it. The Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship turns that person into someone who can write SQL against the warehouse, build a governed Power BI model, test a hypothesis in Python and explain the result to a director.
The funding is already yours. Levy-paying employers draw the £15,000 band from the Growth and Skills Levy account; non-levy employers pay 5% (£750) for apprentices aged 25 and over and nothing for those aged 16 to 24. Unused levy expires after 12 months, which is the usual reason a London finance director signs the first cohort off in a hurry.
Delivery is live online, so analysts across several London sites, or hybrid at home, join the same cohort without a day lost to travel. Closed cohorts of eight or more can run on site or on a 12-month accelerated timetable.
