Not All Training Providers Are Built the Same
We deliver bespoke, practitioner-led apprenticeships with more embedded qualifications than any other UK AI provider. Here’s what makes TESS different.
TESS Group vs Large-Scale Providers
Many training providers process apprentices at scale. We take a different approach - bespoke design, industry practitioners, and measurable business impact.

- ✓ Bespoke programme design tailored to your organisation’s goals and sector
- ✓ Up to 5 embedded qualifications (Microsoft, BCS, CMI, CIPD, NCFE)

- ✓ Dedicated employer partnership manager throughout
- ✓ AI apprenticeships designed for non-technical teams - no coding required
- ✓ 4.9/5 rating from 690 verified employer and learner reviews

Large-Scale Providers
- ✗ Off-the-shelf, one-size-fits-all programme delivery
- ✗ Typically 0–1 additional qualification beyond the apprenticeship standard
- ✗ Mixed delivery models with variable trainer quality and experience
- ✗ Fixed cohort dates - wait weeks or months for the next intake
- ✗ Account managed as one of hundreds or thousands of employer clients
- ✗ AI programmes targeted at technical roles only - coding often required
- ✗ Lower aggregate satisfaction scores with less personalised support
- ✗ Variable achievement rates, often relying on volume over quality

What People Really Think of TESS

What “Ofsted Good” actually means, and where TESS goes further.
Ofsted’s grading scale for further education and apprenticeship providers runs Outstanding · Good · Requires Improvement · Inadequate. An “Outstanding” provider is exceptional. A “Good” provider is judged to be delivering a high-quality apprenticeship experience across leadership, teaching, behaviour and outcomes, the same four pillars Ofsted assesses for every provider, from the largest universities to specialist providers like TESS.
In practice, the gap between Outstanding and Good is much narrower than the labels suggest. The grade reflects a single inspection window. Outcomes, employer satisfaction, distinction rates and learner reviews matter at least as much as the headline grade when you’re choosing a provider. Three reasons that matters here:
- Our 72% distinction rate at end-point assessment sits well above the UK average of roughly 33%. That is the outcome metric most apprenticeship buyers actually care about, and it isn’t reflected in the headline Ofsted grade.
- 4.9★ from 690 verified reviews across Trustpilot and Google, the largest verified review footprint of any specialist UK AI apprenticeship provider. Independent and current.
- Coachy, the only AI tutor built into a UK apprenticeship, included free with every TESS AI apprenticeship. No Outstanding-rated provider has anything equivalent in 2026.
If you’re comparing TESS to a provider that holds an Outstanding grade, weight all four signals together, grade, distinction rate, reviews, and product. We are confident which side the comparison lands on.
